Seller's Notes:This piece was purchased in 1987 by my in-laws. After they bought a flat screen tv they gave it to my wife and me ca. 1997. Ca. 2008 we had it converted to a concealable computer desk by installing a power strip and a custom wood monitor stand with built in keyboard tray and storage. After we no longer needed that we just used it for storage. We had our tv on top for a while but that’s simply too high for viewing. We no longer have a use for the piece which is why we’re selling it. Blemishes are minor for the most part. All should be visible by zooming in on the photos. The most noticeable are horizontally along the burl at the 1/3 and 2/3 points on the doors. These happened because the rubber rollers on the original retracting hardware deteriorated and the door fronts were rubbing against metal. Most of the others are minor scratches/rub marks which I’d imagine could be easily fixed by someone who knows furniture restoration. The insides of the main doors have some scratches, likely from their time housing the family computer. The tempered glass audio component shelves are, unfortunately, lost. While likely not useful to most in its current configuration, this is a gorgeous piece that should be in someone’s home. While researching this line I came across references to these being converted to wine cabinets and other uses. I’m sure with a little creativity someone will find a way keep this beautiful cabinet relevant for modern life!
