Seller's Notes:A fine set of eight American Hepplewhite dining chairs, dating to the early 19th century, comprising three armchairs and five side chairs. Each chair stands 36 inches tall with a comfortable 19-inch seat height, exhibiting the graceful, tapered lines and refined proportions characteristic of the Hepplewhite style. The set has been well maintained, with cushions free of staining and only minor scratches present on the legs, consistent with age and gentle use. The upholstery was professionally redone in 2006, offering a fresh, clean presentation while preserving the chairs' historic character. The chairs were acquired from an antique dealer in London in 1984 and we are selling them because we are downsizing. They have been very happy in all of the homes we have owned in the past forty-plus years and we would love to find them a new owner who will continue to appreciate their historic character.
