Seller's Notes:We have outgrown the need for this set (6 chairs, one table) and would like to sell it to someone who would appreciate the history and craftsmanship. There is wear and tear on the table finish, but overall it looks really nice. It comes with custom table covers, has one insert and the fabric is obviously not original, but is easy to change. Prior owners bought it from ROYAL ANTIQUES in NEW ORLEANS in 1987, and paid $8,840 for it back then. I will include that receipt with the buyer. Also, set age 90 is best guess, likely much older. We had it appraised in 2021 and this is what we received: My appraisal is based solely on my experience and knowledge of the market, today. I would say that the chairs are correct at $6400. Antique dining chairs have always been expensive in England. However, I have had a harder time selling a set of 6, no matter how fine or beautiful. My appraisal of the table would be $7800. Now, the condition of the pieces absolutely matters in price. If you had a good antique cabinet person who could do all of the minor repairs and, then, do a polish/wax on everything, that would make a big difference. You must remember that what a piece is worth, and what you can actually sell it for, and how quickly, are all to be considered.
