Antique French Inlaid Bowed Glass Curio Cabinet
Product details
Seller's Notes:This piece was passed down within my stepfather’s family for a few generations. While not exactly sure the full history, based on researching similar items it’s suggested this piece dates back as early as 1910. The whole front and sides have rare bowed glass, which makes for an excellent display unit. The interior is mirror backed and has 4 interior levels. The bottom two levels are pacific cloth lined still in good condition and the upper two are clear glass shelves also in good condition. The price is less than comparables because the main area of wear is the decorative brass/bronze metalwork along the top of the unit, which has peeled away (see photos). A skilled hand could fix. The outside dimensions are 58”h x 30”w x 15”d. The door operates well and as far as known has the original keyhole and hinges. With any antique there are minor scuffs and scratches but overall, the wood and floral stenciling are in very good shape with a nice patina. Bronze decorative metal work of varying patterns trims out the exterior of the unit nicely. Overall, this piece has a high quality of construction.
