Seller's Notes:Set of Six Block Island Cane Club Chairs & Ottoman by John Hutton for Donghia, 1990s. Two Armchairs Four Side Chairs A limited production, Block Island collection designed by John Hutton (1947-2006) for Donghia, circa 1995. This seating series is Hutton's graphic, highly textural interpretation of the work of Jean-Michel Frank. Examples from this particular collection are rare. Mr. Hutton was the firm design director from 1978-1998 and was responsible for many of the, now iconic, Donghia designs produced during that period. This set comprises of two arm chairs and four side chairs featuring a woven cane patchwork pattern, with re-upholstered red fabric cushions. The Block Island series is arguably the most aesthetically successful of all furniture produced by Donghia. Good overall condition, minor fading, caning is complete throughout, some lighter discoloration on cane in spots.
