Designed and produced in the early 60's the Brasilia line takes inspiration from the namesake capital of Brazil founded in 1960 (one of the very few capital cities founded in the modern era) which featured astounding Modern architecture that inspired the world with it's unique utopian layout and audacious futuristic engineering. Indeed the Brasilia line is one of the most direct translations of architecture to furnishings and this is plain to see with the sculpted walnut arches that are inseparable from the arches of the Palácio do Planalto designed by the incomparable architect Oscar Niemeyer. Featuring solid and veneered walnut with exceptional old-growth woodgrains, gorgeous brass handles (that too reflect the breathtaking architecture of Brazil's capital) and a clever flip-flap set of extensions it's no wonder why the Brasilia line continues to captivate collectors to this day. The interior of the bar includes a fixed shelf and a single drawer for ample bar storage and the piece sits atop the original castors which make this bar convenient to move from place to place with ease.
