Seller's Notes:These vintage lamp bases designed by Mel Smilow are in excellent condition. Made of varied tone rich walnut and originally purchased for $1600 each. Will mesh seamlessly with mid century modern, transitional or relaxed eclectic decor styles. (sold with one ivory and one black shade if desired, though shades somewhat damaged, worn) Wood height 24”, with harp 33”. Base diameter 6.4”. Oval shades slightly graduated from top, 19.5” x 15.5” at bottom. Mel Smilow (1922–2002) designed and retailed modern furnishings through his six independently owned stores from 1949 through the late 1970’s. A champion of American-made, finely crafted, modern design.
