Conceived as a sculptural centerpiece rather than conventional reclining furniture, the piece combines refined proportions, concealed functionality, and artisanal craftsmanship of exceptional quality. Wrapped in a rich deep blue top grain leather, the sofa rests on a recessed solid walnut platform intentionally extended beyond the upholstered structure to create a dramatic floating effect. Every element was designed to preserve a clean, monolithic silhouette while integrating advanced reclining functionality with complete visual discretion. A defining detail of the piece is its contrasting burnt red saddle stitching, developed as an intentional architectural accent throughout the upholstery. Double topstitched French seams run across the cushions and structure, introducing subtle tension and depth against the blue leather surface while emphasizing the precision of the upholstery work. The stitching pattern continues across the back panels in a rhythmic linear composition that reinforces the sofa’s sculptural geometry. The sofa features two individually reclining manual backrests engineered to lower almost flush with the armrests, preserving the purity of the horizontal profile. Each backrest reclines independently up to approximately 60 degrees through discreet concealed mechanisms integrated directly into the structure. An entirely custom developed six position manual footrest system unfolds independently from beneath the seat structure, extending up to approximately 90 degrees. Unlike traditional reclining furniture, all hardware remains visually hidden beneath the sofa, maintaining the floating architectural appearance from every angle. The internal frame is constructed from precision engineered solid hardwood with reinforced mortise and tenon joinery for long term structural integrity. Support is provided through an Italian four line elastic webbing suspension system combined with six solid hardwood legs for optimal weight distribution and durability.
