Ligne Roset Jubilee lit 2003 Maly 1 Queen Bed
Product details
Seller's Notes:Selling our collectable Maly 1 bed (original design no longer available in stores purchased from Ligne Roset Boston) - the jubilee-edition model, the “lit Maly 2003” bearing its commemorative plaque. It is now almost 40 years since Peter Maly created a veritable classic: the “Maly Bed” for Ligne Roset. With its generous size, wraparound rest, swivel tablet, and variable slot-in backrest cushions, the “Maly Bed” enticed you not only to sleep on it, but to enjoy reading, listening to music, watching TV or breakfasting on it. The bed is an oasis where you can feel comfy and cozy for longer periods of time. And Ligne Roset recently commissioned the designer to create a re-edition of the bed - Maly 2. Peter Maly himself has two “Maly beds” at home. The 1983 model is in his guestroom, for visitors to sleep on – while he has the jubilee-edition model, the “lit Maly 2003”. The bed for sale is the same jubilee-edition the lit Maly 2003 model the designer still sleeps in (see link below from stylepark interview). The bed is finished in dark wenge wood finish with matte silver base (exactly as in the stock photo below). The pillows are rich chocolate brown mohair (can be moved around the entire perimeter of the bed) and the bed comes with the original LR bed slat bases. We are the original owners and have always been a non-smoking/pet free home, etc. the bed is in excellent, like new condition. Today, the redesigned Maly 2 retails for $11,800+tax at Ligne Roset. We are reluctantly selling this bed only because after renovating the house, we found out that the bedroom door and wall sconce placement was not ideal for the dimensions of the bed. One can order a swivel table from Ligne Roset Boston (as shown in the ad photo) or an extra side pillow (this bed originally came with the 2 pillows I am including in the sale). I like it as is, with just 2 back pillows to highlight its minimal Japanese-inspired design lines and dark/moody coloring. Made in France. It can be easily disassembled and re-assembled and the parts can fit into a small van/big SUV. I have the instructions from LR to make this easy. No need for boxspring as the original bed slats are included. Measurements: Width (from edge to edge of wood trim perimeter): 81-1/4” Length (to front edge of wood perimeter): 96-3/4” Height of head of bed (to top of pillow): 29” Height of top of bed (mattress surface): 15” This bed is a collectable rarity (the Jubilee 2003 model Peter Maly still sleeps in) and is in excellent condition.
