Black metal frame, and upholstery fabric that is stapled on and you could easily cover it in a decorative fabric or upholstery fabric. Comfortable for all use, not just playing a music instrument. The seat is 19 inches high, good for 6ft height person or taller. Rounded waterfall front of seat is comfortable for your legs. The chair is a sturdy and functional.
