Refractory Dining Table Nine Matching Chairs
Product details
Seller's Notes:Antique Refectory Tables are long, heavy solid tables, usually constructed in old Oak, Walnut, Pine or more unusual examples in elm or fruit-wood with stretchers around the base. They were originally used in the Medieval times in monasteries or Great halls in larger properties of very wealthy English homes and Castles. This set was used in St. John's Episcopal Church in Cleveland (Cleveland's oldest) until it was acquired during the restoration of the church several years ago. It was reportedly built ca. 1830-1850. The set includes the pine plank table, eight dining chairs and one larger chair with arms. The seats on all the chairs are caned and in great shape.
