The Skafeld is constructed entirely from solid hardwood, every piece of which is shaped and finished by hand at a master multi-generational, family-owned woodworking shop in Pennsylvania. Its beveled, gently chamfered wood top notches into four hooved legs, which are accented with custom metal hardware. Dual, mirrored support structures—substantial wood cross stretchers, and slender wood dowels—provide added stability, and a shifting silhouette that morphs as you view the Skafeld from differing angles. Once assembled, the Skafeld is sanded, oiled, and buffed repeatedly, resulting in a finish that highlights and enhances the singular grain of its discerningly-sourced hardwood. Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer’s Roman and Williams Guild Original Designs are each branded with our insignia and delivered with a Certificate of Authenticity.
