Thonet No. 14 Bentwood Chairs from Conrans
Product details
Seller's Notes:No 14 Chair, Black Grain is also know as "the chair of the chairs", is one of the world's most popular design classics. It's often copied, but these are the real thing. Purchased from The Conran's store, in the basement of the ABC Carpet Building in the heart of New York City. They are a beautiful addition to any home, and look good in a MCM or Vintage Contemporary setting. I love them, but am moving to a new house. You will love having these around your table. Small enough for a New York apartment, but big enough in style to add a lovely touch to your home!
Since 1859, when chair No. 14 was first introduced, more than 80 million units have been sold all over the world. Its iconic shapes are created by six manually bent beech rods, two bolts and ten screws. Thanks to its low weight, attractive price and legendary strength, this chair quickly found its place in the cafes of Vienna, earning the nickname the "café chair".
