Seller's Notes:These were once part of a set of six antique dining chairs that came from a castle in Scotland. I bought them at an antique store in Scotch Plains, NJ in 1999 and was told they were probably 50 years old at that time. So I'm only guessing on the actual age, but let's say that they are 75 years old. At the time I bought them, I had them reupholstered in the blue velvet you see here. One of the chairs has a small bleach stain on the velvet (see pic), but otherwise the velvet and trim are in good shape, as they were only used lightly in the 25 years that I've had them. The carved wood is beautiful. The chairs are a little bit creaky, which is not surprising considering their age, but with a little TLC, a polishing and a reupholstering in a fabric of your choosing, they could be spectacular conversation pieces (and dining chairs)! I hate to see them go, as they have been with me for so long, but sadly they don't get used much anymore, and I'd rather see them go to a nice new home where they can be used and marveled at for years (or decades) to come.
