Two Food-Themed Prints in Custom Frames

Seller's Notes:These two botanical prints—one featuring celery and onion, the other asparagus and potato—are taken from The Instructive Picture Book, or Lessons from the Vegetable World (Edinburgh, 1858), a richly illustrated volume of Victorian educational plates. I don’t know whether these are original prints or reproductions, but they have been in one family since acquisition and were mostly stored, covered, and kept out of sunlight. They are in excellent, pristine condition. Each is presented in a custom, high-quality wood frame with a marbled and gold finish, double-matted in soft cream and green (mat width: 3.25") under non-glare glass. Finished size is approximately 17.75" wide × 21.75" high. The heading, “Kitchen – Vegetables and Roots,” appears at the top of the pages in the original book (see photo), now covered by matting. Loads of historical charm and balance. These would make a graceful addition to a kitchen, dining room, or study. I'm selling them only as I shift my style.
