Seller's Notes:This is an antique American Hitchcock-style chair, also known as a Windsor or captain's chair. It features a solid radius top rail decorated with an original painted American eagle flanked by four stars. The chair has a turned legs, and spindles with gold striping and stenciled flourishes. It is a mid-19th century piece and a rare example of early American craftsmanship.
