Seller's Notes:Queen Anne / Chippendale Revival Cedar Hope Chest (circa 1948–1951) This was my mom’s wedding hope chest, made by the West Branch Novelty Company in Milton, PA. It’s the Queen Anne / Chippendale Revival “Lowboy / Chest on Frame” style with cabriole legs and carved claw and ball feet. It also has the carved shell design on the bottom apron and the faux drawer fronts with original brass bail handles. Inside is the original 100% natural red cedar lining, along with the manufacturer’s original guarantee/moth insurance tag still under the lid. The chest dates to the late 1940s - early 1950s, during the post WWII period when these were commonly given as wedding or graduation gifts. It’s a solid, well made vintage piece with a lot of history, and it’s ready for someone who’ll appreciate it and put it to good use. Condition: Solid and sturdy overall with normal wear from age - some surface scratches, finish wear, and patina consistent with a 1940s-1950s piece, but everything is intact and the legs, feet, drawers, and cedar interior are all in good working shape.
